Mudei a casa. A música, essa, é a mesma de sempre.

Neste espaço, ficam os concertos vistos desde Janeiro de 2012, as conversas com músicos inspiradores, as opiniões, as canções do momento e as de sempre. Ficam as playlists e os lançamentos. Já lá vão três anos.

O Urban Blues continua a acontecer, mas agora é aqui. Sejam bem-vindos.

O mês arrancou com uma celebração especial. A 1 de Outubro comemora-se o Dia Mundial da Música e, este ano, a festa portuguesa aconteceu na Antena 3.

Durante todo o dia, uma emissão especial recebeu nos estúdios da rádio alguns dos artistas portugueses que andam a dar que falar.

Filipe Pinto inaugurou as actuações. Vencedor do Ídolos, o músico anda a percorrer o país para tocar o primeiro single, ‘Insónia’, e apresentar Cerne, o disco de estreia.

The Weatherman, ou Alexandre Monteiro, apresentou-se em modo one-man band na Antena 3 mas levou consigo todo um universo de colaborações, que incluem nomes como André Tentugal (We Trust), instrumentos e dois álbuns já lançados. ‘Proper Goodbye’ é o novo single deste Paul McCartney à portuguesa.

Os Capitão Fausto prestaram tributo à música portuguesa com o tema ‘Zécid’. A banda fez uma pausa na gravação do segundo disco para estar presente no Dia Mundial da Música, enquanto ainda está a divulgar o álbum de estreia – acaba de ser lançado o teledisco do segundo single, ‘Verdade’.

Capicua anda a brilhar no hip hop português. Entre as rimas da poesia e as do rap, a MC do Porto lançou disco homónimo que conta com beats de D-One, Ruas, Sam the Kid, Xeg e Nelassassin e garante-lhe um lugar de destaque na cena portuguesa.

Os HMB, banda recente que recuperou a soul portuguesa, aproveitaram a ocasião para tocar ‘Dia D’, o single mais conhecido. Também recente é a nova música do grupo, ‘CDQP (Culpa de Quem Pariu)’ que, a alinhar com o tom interventivo que muitas bandas assumiram nos últimos tempos, reúne várias caras conhecidas a perguntar de quem é a culpa.

Miguel Araújo, autor de uma das músicas que mais se ouve nas rádios, anda a mostrar a sua faceta de cantautor de estórias e ironias. ‘Fizz Limão’ seguiu ‘Os Maridos das Outras’ e mantêm o guitarrista d’Os Azeitonas entre os nomes mais interessantes da nossa música, razão pela qual Miguel Araújo foi chamado a comparecer na festa da Antena 3.

Os Best Youth levaram a sua indie pop sussurrante aos estúdios da rádio e deixaram vontade de novo material. Enquanto não chega um segundo disco, é possível encontrar Catarina Salinas e Ed Rocha Gonçalves no projecto ambulante There Must Be A Place, com André Tentugal.

Os Beatbombers são Stereossauro e DJ Ride (que acaba de editar um novo álbum pela Optimus Discos), dupla reconhecida dentro e fora do país. ‘Tuga Breakz’ data de 2011 e esteve na celebração da música, a 1 de Outubro.

No mesmo dia, teve início o festival Música a Metro, com acompanhamento especial da Antena 3 – mais uma razão pelas quais esta é uma das melhores rádios portuguesas. Fechá-la, como tem vindo a ser comentado, seria um erro fatal.

No dia seguinte, ao ligar o rádio apeteceu que fosse um novo dia da música – uma celebração constante, repetida todos os dias.

This is the month dedicated to music. On October 1st, the national radio Antena 3 planned a special celebration of the International Music Day with several Portuguese artists.

All day long, the bands and singers went to the radio's studios to play live some of their latest works as well as to state a few words on the importance of music to them.

Filipe Pinto is the winner of one edition of the Portuguese Idol. He is now releasing his first album, Cerne, from which he took the first single, 'Insónia'.

The Weatherman is Alexandre Monteiro, a one-man band working on his third record. 'Proper Goodbye' is the first single of the new album which is certainly going to give The Weatherman some well earned time in the spotlight.

Capitão Fausto payed an homage to Portuguese music by playing ‘Zécid’ (the title of this song relates to José Cid, a well known national artist). The band took a break from recording their second album while their still promoting the first one, Gazela. In fact, they just released the video for a new single from that album, entitled 'Verdade'.

Capicua is the new shining star in Portugal's hip hop scene. By mixing poetry and rap, this MC from Porto has just released her self titled album, with some help from D-One, Ruas, Sam the Kid, Xeg and Nelassassin on the beats.

HMB are replacing soul in Portugal's music. 'Dia D' is their most known single and ‘CDQP (Culpa de Quem Pariu)’ is expect to match that given its social and political tone.

Miguel Araújo is the author of one of the songs that has playing on repeat in every radio. ‘Os Maridos das Outras’ and ‘Fizz Limão’ belong to the debut album of this storyteller.

Best Youth whispered their indie pop at the studio. The band from Porto paired up with We Trust's André Tentugal to put together the joint tour There Must Be A Place.

Beatbombers is the DJ duo of Stereossauro and DJ Ride (who has just released a new record with Optimus Discos). 'Tuga Breakz’ was out in 2011 and has awarded Beatbombers a reputation, both in and outside of the country.

Antena 3 proved once again to be one of the best national radio stations. To shut it down, as some rumours point out to be possible, would be a shame.

Poucas coisas animam mais do que o anúncio de um concerto. Se for à borla, ainda mais. Se forem vários concertos, bons e de graça - ânimo lá em cima.

Foi assim que descobri hoje os concertos Optimus, integrados na Lisbon Week 2012, evento de gastronomia, arte, música e outras coisas. Nos dias 25, 26 e 27 de Outubro, o Mercado da Ribeira, em Lisboa, vai receber concertos de entrada livre a partir das 22h30.

There aren't many things better than learning of a great concert nearby. Except when it's for free. It's even better when it's not just one band but several concerts all together.

It happened to me today. Lisbon Week 2012 will be hosting three days of Optimus concerts at Mercado da Ribeira, in Lisbon. Between October 25th and 27th, some of the most exciting current Portuguese bands.

Check the line-up above to see who and when they will be playing.

For the downside, precisely at the same dates there will be a bunch of other amazing concerts.

FNAC traz mais talentos

A FNAC é um exemplo no que toca à promoção dos novos talentos nacionais. A 21 e 22 de Junho apresenta esses talentos da música, uns novos outros não tão novos mas sempre bons de ver e ouvir.

É  no Cinema São Jorge e, pela módica quantia de 4€ o dia, podem ver uma quantidade generosa de boas bandas, como Salto, Best Youth, Paus, Capitão Fausto, We Trust e muitos outros.

FNAC usually promotes new talents in several fields of arts. On June 21st and 22nd, it will be showing music new talents through a festival to be held at São Jorge theatre.

Tickets cost only 4€ a day and they give access to good music played by bands such as Salto, Best Youth, Paus, Capitão Fausto, We Trust and many more.
