Rock in Rio Lisbon 2012 in pictures: day 3

Contrary to what is usual, there wasn't one specific day dedicated to children at this year's Rock in Rio. No Justin Bieber or Rihanna as many voices asked for in the months previous to the festival. Instead, there were shows by the repeatants Ivete Sangalo and Lenny Kravitz, the Portuguese Expensive Soul and the debutants in Portugal Maroon 5. 74 thousands went to Parque da Bela Vista. Check the pictures.

Aqui ficam as fotos.

In my opinion, organisation should have made a different distribution of time. Yes, Lenny Kravitz was the headliner but I would rather have watched half an hour more of Maroon 5 than the last 30 minutes of his two hour show.

Grammys review: Maroon 5, Foster The People, Beach Boys

It seems to me that the Grammys folks tossed on the table the names of the bands they wanted to have on stage this year. They paired them up and there were only three names left: Maroon 5, Foster The People and the Beach Boys. And a tribute to the Boys was invented.

Although they might have some common ground - more Foster The People and the Beach Boys anyway - the hole combination just didn't work. First Maroon 5 calmly performed 'Surfer Girl'; Foster The People came in singing 'Wouldn't It Be Nice' and looked like they were so uncomfortable at the Grammys stage. Afterwards, the veterans of the Beach Boys showed that they are oldies but goldies with 'Good Vibrations'.

Even though the three bands came together for the last song, it looked like a karaoke night with new singers coming up on stage right after the previous ones set foot at the backstage.

Juntaram alguns e no fim só sobraram três: Maroon 5, Foster The People e Beach Boys.

Cartazes de Verão 2012: Rock in Rio (act.)

The Boss.

1 Junho: Lenny Kravitz, Maroon 5, Ivete Sangalo e Expensive Soul.
3 Junho: Bruce Springsteen.
