Faça sol ou faça chuva, se há coisa que tira um estudante universitário do extenuante trabalho do estudo é a Semana Académica. A de Lisboa de 2012 ainda não acabou e começar, não começou da melhor forma.
A 2 de Maio, o cartaz incluía a Estudantina Universitária de Lisboa, Carminho numa participação especial com DJ Ride e Os Azeitonas.
A Estudantina esteve pouco tempo em palco mas aqueceu o público, numa noite fria e torta. Começar tarde em noite chuvosa é meio caminho andado para o fracasso e acabou por atrasar o resto do alinhamento, que, por questões exteriores à organização do evento, teve fim à 1h e não às 2h como se previa.
Seguiu-se Carminho, mas sem DJ Ride. A fadista dá um bom espectáculo, especialmente pelo acompanhamento que leva. São três guitarristas de peso, com destaque individual durante o concerto. O melhor da curta apresentação foi a voz de Carminho, que encheu o recinto que os estudantes deixaram a meio.
Os Azeitonas trouxeram a casa às costas e um conjunto elaborado de elementos para encher o palco. É uma ensemble com muitos músicos, dos saxofones aos congos sem esquecer os ferrinhos. Valeu a pena esperar pela montagem e acertos de som e cenário, porque o concerto d'Os Azeitonas é uma animação total. Começa com a apresentação do jingle de rádio que introduz Os Azeitonas e instaura a vibe dos clubes de música, onde se faz som a sério e ao vivo.
Em apenas 45 minutos, Os Azeitonas recordaram as músicas mais emblemáticas da banda, num best of apressado a que o público (agora já mais composto) aderiu.
O som apresentado é de grande qualidade e fiel às gravações de estúdio, mas com o feeling da música ao vivo. O frontman Mário Brandão (também responde por Marlon) é o foco enérgico do concerto, um master of ceremonies de categoria. Conversa com o público, pede que ele cante e improvisa sons de robot a meio de 'Quem és tu, Miúda?'.
Incontornável foi 'Anda Comigo Ver os Aviões', canção repescada por Bruno Vieira, concorrente ao programa Ídolos. Foi arrepiante ver e ouvir o recinto a cantar em peso esta música, já de 2010. Foi uma aposta ganha da organização desta Semana Académica e um impulso para a banda, que retoma actividade graças à nova onda de popularidade.
Os Azeitonas fizeram questão de explicar ao Urban Blues que não regressaram ao palco para um encore como o público pedia, e estava inicialmente previsto, porque o seu tempo de actuação era, de facto, muito restrito. Pela sua vontade, continuavam mais umas horas.
DJ Ride fechou a noite - mesmo sem Carminho - em countdown para o encerramento da festa.

Rain or shine, there is one thing that pulls a hardworking student out of the books, and that's the Academic Week or, in Portuguese, Semana Académica. This year's Lisbon Academic Week has one day left but it didn't start in the best way.
On May 2nd, the line-up included the group of students Estudantina Universitária de Lisboa, the Fado singer Carminho in a special collaboration with DJ Ride and Os Azeitonas.
The Estudantina Universitária de Lisboa made a brief stop by the stage but started the party, in such a cold night. With a late start - very late - and a rainy night, the fest was expected to be a big fail. External matters determined that the shows should end by 1h instead of the announced 2h.
Carminho came up next, but without DJ Ride. The singer puts on a good performance and brings along the phenomenal musicians. Her voice is so powerful that it filled up the half empty venue.
Os Azeitonas were a good surprise. They bring a big ensemble and put on stage a huge, carefully thought scenario. The show made worth the long wait for the Portuguese band. They are amazing on stage with a great energy, specially considering it was a festival prepared for students. The start out with a radio jingle and set the mood of a live music club. The songs sound pretty much like the studio versions, with the additional feeling of live performances.
In 45 minutes, Os Azeitonas presented their most known songs in a best of that the crowd sang along.
Frontman Mário Brandão (goes for Marlon also) is the centre of attention with his bursting energy. A real master of ceremonies. He talked to the people, asked for them to sing along and improvised some robot tunes in the middle of one of the band's hits, 'Quem és tu, Miúda?'.
The most anticipated song of the night was 'Anda Comigo Ver os Aviões', the song presented by a candidate of the Portuguese version of Idol which went viral in Portugal. It was mesmerizing to watch everybody follow the lyrics of this beautiful ballad,that made success to the band back in 2010. Actually, Os Azeitonas were kind of out of the music scene until the Idol episode. It surely made the day for the organization of the fest to book this band, even though they ended up cutting the show from 1h15 minutes to only 45 minutes.
The band told Urban Blues they could and wanted to comeback to the stage for an encore as the crowd was asking.
DJ Ride closed up with just 30 minutes of performance and the collaboration with Carminho didn't really happen.
