Podem ir ao armário buscar o blusão de cabedal. Tragam as plumas, os padrões bizarros e os neons. Os anos 1980, década marcante no que toca à música, não passaram.
É já no próximo fim-de-semana que Cascais recebe um festival inspirado no revivalismo e nostalgia que os 80s inspiram, um pouco por toda a Europa. Vêem ao Hipódromo Manuel Possolo estrelas daquele período da música e trazem consigo alguns hits que marcaram gerações. Para ver, ouvir e dançar a 7 e 8 de Setembro, com entradas a 30 euros para um dia e a 50 euros para os dois. Os concertos começam às 20h30.

Ali Campbell
Foi um dos fundadores dos britânicos UB 40, mas lançou-se a decisão de deixar a banda coincidiu com o lançamento da carreira a solo. Para trás, ficaram 30 anos de história e músicas como 'Red Red Wine'.
Alphaville
Já estiveram em Portugal várias vezes, a primeira em 1998. O repertório da banda alemã inclui músicas incontornáveis quando o assunto é anos 1980. 'Forever Young' é um clássico mas 'Big in Japan' não lhe fica atrás.
F.R David
"Words... don't come easy". Clássico. O francês F.R David é o cabeça-de-cartaz do primeiro dia do ERP Remember Cascais e terá de tocar, claro, o hit que deixou a sua marca um pouco por todo o mundo.

Sétima Legião
Uma das poucas bandas dos anos 1980 portugueses que não continuaram até hoje. Felizmente, 2012 é ano de reunions e, depois da apresentação no Coliseu de Lisboa, os Sétima Legião juntam-se em Cascais. 'Por quem não esqueci' não pode faltar.
Liz Mitchell
O nome não diz muito, mas as palavras 'Daddy Cool' não deixam margem para dúvidas. Liz Mitchell tornou icónicas algumas músicas dos Boney M, como 'Rivers of Babylon'.
Vai ser interessante ouvir os clássicos de tempos em que ainda nem era nascida, embora com sinais visíveis da passagem do tempo. A minha última experiência do género foi ver a Debbie Harry, com os Blondie e uns anos a mais em cima, a abanar-se no palco principal do Optimus Alive 2011 enquanto tentava passar a alegria de 'Maria' e 'Call Me'.
Ainda assim, há que adorar os 80s. Com tudo o que tiveram, de bom e de mau. De brilhante e de decadente. De glorioso e de piroso.

Next weekend, Cascais will be hosting a revival festival of 80s music. ERP Remember Cascais will take place at Hipódromo Manuel Possolo on September 7th and 8th. Tickets cost 30 and 50 euros (one day and full ticket). Shows start at 8.30 p.m.

They are one of the few Portuguese bands from the 1980s who aren't still running these days. Luckily for us, 2012 is a year for reunions and after playing at Lisbon's Coliseum, Sétima Legião will be playing together again. Looking forward to listen to 'Por quem não esqueci'.

It'll be really fun to listen to songs from when I wasn't even born. My last 80s experience was watching Blondie with Debbie Harry trying hard to be like the old times, from hits like 'Maria' and 'Call Me'. Blondie played at Optimus Alive 2011.
Regardless the decadence, you gotta love the 80s - with all the glitter and sparkles and the sappy ballads; with all the glory and tackiness.
